PM Modi on Jan 22 during his visit to UP's Lucknow had said that he was saddened to hear about the death of the Dalit student at the University of Hyderabad.
“It was saddening to see that a youth of my country, Rohith, was driven to commit suicide,” Modi said during his speech during the sixth convocation ceremony at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow.
"The reasons for his suicide and the politics over his suicide are a different issue. However, mother India has lost a son," Modi had said in Lucknow.
PM Modi had said that at a time when the entire nation looks up to the youth for inspiration and strength, a news like this brings sadness. He asked youngsters not to take such drastic steps.
It's not the first time for Rahul
In the past, BJP leader Arun Jaitley had hit out at Rahul Gandhi over his remarks about the opposition party and prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi pursuing "personality-oriented" power. Jaitley said the Congress vice president had got his facts all wrong.
